Handling & Unpacking

Handle your print with care when removing it from the tube. Always hold it by the edges or wear powder-free nitrile or cotton gloves to avoid fingerprints and protect the delicate surface.

Placing the print in a frame will naturally help it return to a flat condition, as the pressure of the glazing and backing smooths the paper over time.

If the print is still curled, you can flatten it using the book method. Place the print on the acid-free tissue paper it was delivered in, with the image side facing down. Then press it under a stack of heavy, flat books for several hours or overnight.

Viewing Distance

To fully appreciate the details, the ideal viewing distance is 1.5 to 2 times the diagonal. For a 40×50 cm print, this is about 1 to 1.3 meters.

Lighting

Indirect, natural light is best. Avoid direct sunlight to preserve colors. Track lighting or spotlights can beautifully enhance textures.

Reflections

Consider window placement when framing. Anti-reflective or museum glass is highly recommended to minimize glare.

Environment

Choose a room with a stable temperature and low humidity. Avoid placing prints directly above a radiator or in damp areas to prevent warping.
